This medicine may affect how much of some other drugs are in your body. If you are taking other drugs, talk with your doctor. You may need to have your blood work checked more closely while taking rifapentine with your other drugs. Birth control pills and other hormone-based birth control may not work as well to prevent pregnancy. Use some other kind of birth control also like a condom when taking this medicine. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan on getting pregnant. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks of using rifapentine while you are pregnant. This medicine may color breast milk an orange or red color. Talk with the doctor. How is this medicine (Rifapentine) best taken? Use this medicine as ordered by your doctor. Read all information given to you. Follow all instructions closely. Take with food. If you cannot swallow tablets, the tablet may be crushed and added to a small amount of soft food. Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it, with food. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time.
