Epinastine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. Epinastine ophthalmic (for the eyes) is used to prevent itching of the eyes caused by allergies. Epinastine ophthalmic should not be used to treat eye irritation or discomfort caused by wearing contact lenses. Gently press your finger to the inside corner of the eye (near your nose) for about 1 minute to keep the liquid from draining into your tear duct.
